Palau is an idyllic island paradise set in the heart of the pacific, between Asia and Australia. The republic of Palau is an archipelago of about 200 volcanic islands supporting an incredible range of wildlife. From the pristine white beaches and blue lagoons to the dense rainforest Palau harbours over 1000 different species many endemic to Palau itself. Palau is also home to the sensitive and unique evolutionary phenomena: Jellyfish Lake. The only place in the world you can snorkel a lake filled with stingless jellyfish. Not only does Palau have incredible wildlife it also has a rich culture and interesting modern history. Head into Koror and grab a slice of Micronesian life in the local bars and restaurants or head into the markets to try traditional local delicacies. Many sites of cultural importance scatter the islands to explore or wander around the numerous museums Palau has to offer.
