Belau National Museum – The oldest museum in the Micronesia, being established in 1955, exhibits some of the variety of values held in traditional culture, containing over 1000 artefacts attaining to the “natural, cultural, social and historical” roots of the country. This unique museum offers in depth information into the lore of the Republic, so lose yourself learning of Chuab the giant, among other legends, or get into the Palauan spirit with traditional dress.

Etpison Museum – This museum, opened in 1999, doubles as the French Consulate office. This 3 story building displays many Palauan and Micronesian artefacts, as well as displaying, and playing a strong force in furthering special projects, such as that to conserve Palau’s Dugongs.

Visits to the Ngarachamayong Cultural Centre are run daily in peak season, and run on request in the quieter seasons. This facility was built to showcase the traditions and native culture of Palau. Built through a mixture of governmental funds and Chinese grants, this centre is a must see for the discerning tourist who wants to deepen their knowledge of the island.

Described as the ‘Easter Island of Micronesia’ these 37 iconic stone monoliths located to the north of Babeldaob’s most northern point boats brilliant sea views, as well as opens your eyes to the deep mystery surrounding the island’s history. The full history of the site isn’t known, but legend holds the area as a meeting house (bai) housing thousands of people. Dating back to 100 AD, this is a must see

Palau Aquarium
See the plethora of marine life whilst staying dry with this visit to the intriguing aquarium. Part of the Japanese-funded Pacific International Coral Reef Centre, it features 16 habitats including soft and hard corals, and many of the areas fish and invertebrate species, including giant clams and the famous stingless jellyfish. Be amazed at the intricate complexity of the local marine environment, while learning about coral-reef ecosystems.
